National Capital Region Transportation Planning Board
- Description: The Transportation Planning Board is the Metropolitan Planning Organization for the Metropolitan Washington Area responsible for regional policies and procedures developed pursuant to implementation of Title 23, Section 134, and Title 49, Section 5303 et seq., of the United States Code relating to encouraging and promoting the safe and efficient management, operation, and development of surface transportation systems that will serve the mobility needs of people and freight, foster economic growth and development, and take into consideration resiliency needs within the Metropolitan Washington Area while minimizing transportation-related fuel consumption and air pollution through metropolitan and statewide transportation planning processes.
