Redistricting Commission, Virginia

The Virginia Redistricting Commission is established in the legislative branch of state government. It shall be convened in the year 2020 and every 10 years thereafter for the purpose of establishing districts for the United States House of Representatives and for the Senate and the House of Delegates of the General Assembly.

The Commission also consists of eight nonlegislative citizen members appointed by the Redistricting Commission Selection Committee, two from a list submitted by the Speaker of the House of Delegates, two from a list submitted by the House Minority Leader, two from a list submitted by the President pro tempore of the Senate, and two from a list submitted by the Senate Minority Leader.
